Mining Engineer Role & Responsibilities:
As a Mining Engineer, you will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and be responsible for designing and implementing safe, efficient mining plans. You’ll work closely with production, geology, and technical teams to ensure optimal ore extraction while developing leadership and management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make plans for an underground slide and fill stope
- Make production plans for the short and medium run.
- Tell the management and geology teams about your weekly plans.
- Plan and keep an eye on the ground support, air, and paste backfill systems.
- Do cost and finance analyses for both operational and capital projects
- Identify, talk about, and fix safety risks
- As given, work on extra projects and engineering tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Education beyond high school in mining engineering
- Underground mining experience of at least two years, ideally in hard rock gold mining
- Knowing how to use Deswik or a similar piece of mine-building software
- Strong ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions
- Being able to work with others and change goals
- License that is still valid
- A dedication to managing safety, health, and the environment
