Regional Australia keeps sponsoring plumbers through 2026 — and some employers say so openly. A current example is a roof plumber posting at Rogan Building Pty Ltd in St George, Southwest Queensland on Indeed: $70,000–$75,000 a year, with ‘Visa sponsorship’ listed right in the benefits. One honesty note first: plumber jobs in australia with visa sponsorship 2026 are real, but sponsorship never replaces qualification — overseas plumbers must pass a TRA skills assessment and get state/territory licensing to work. This guide explains the Rogan posting, the ANZSCO 334111 listing, and the 482 employer-sponsored visa route.

What Does a Plumber Do in Australia?
Plumbers in Australia install and maintain water, gas, drainage and roofing systems: reading plans, cutting and joining pipes, installing fixtures, testing for leaks, and ensuring everything meets Australian Standards. The Rogan Building posting is for roof plumbing on rural shed-construction projects around St George, Queensland — working at heights, following WHS safety procedures, reading construction and plumbing plans, and travelling between project sites on 10-hour shifts. It suits an experienced roof plumber comfortable with remote regional work.
Demand for Plumbers in Australia
Plumber (ANZSCO 334111) is on Australia’s skilled occupation lists, and regional Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia all report strong demand as construction and infrastructure work continues. Because plumbing is licensed essential work that cannot be done remotely, the demand is structural. That is why plumber jobs in australia with visa sponsorship 2026 keep appearing with sponsorship listed openly — regional employers genuinely use the 482 employer-sponsored route when they cannot find local tradespeople.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Rogan Building posting really offer visa sponsorship?
Yes — Indeed’s benefits list for the Rogan Building posting includes ‘Visa sponsorship’. That is a genuine signal, and regional Queensland employers are among the most active sponsors of trades. Still, confirm the visa subclass and terms directly with the employer in writing before making plans.
Which visa do sponsored plumbers use in Australia?

The standard route is the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) employer-sponsored visa, with permanent residency later via the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) once eligible.
Do I need a skills assessment as a foreign plumber?
Yes — overseas plumbers must pass a Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) skills assessment and then obtain licensing from the relevant state or territory (e.g., the QBCC in Queensland) before they can work unsupervised. Sponsorship gets you the visa; the skills assessment and licence get you onto the tools. Start the TRA process early — it takes months.
